The Muzic Box 326 Lower Wacker Dr. (Ron Hardy’s House) Well where do I start. I guess from the beginning. Y’all, I use to be scared of the Muzic Box. It was so many crazy rumors from some of the people who went to the Power Plant. The Plant is a whole nother story. Anyway, one day my jacking buddies took me to the Box. When I got there I saw a whoooole lot of people from the Plant and was wondering what the connection was between the two clubs. Anyway, let me tell you. When I finally got in after the loooooong wait in line in the winter time, I knew people from the Plant at the door as Staff. Once I got inside history started. To push the story along. The atmosphere was the same as the Plants but a lot wilder. As my friends took me into the club area where Ron was playing I was scared, because all I saw was darkness and strobe lights flashin at different speeds nothing else. The Muzic was louder but had a different sound texture from Frankie’s House. Ron’s spoke to his crowd through his mixes and speakers. Ron’s setup was Bass, Mids & Tweters on different channels. At the Box the music went through you and touched your soul because of the way they had it set up and the way he Mixed. I was amazed. As time went on I got hooked. As I kept going to the Box I made more long time friends and became some of the staff closest friend. Stacey Collins, Coat Check Kenny, Avory(RIP) and Ivory just to name a few. At that time I didn’t know that Robert was the founder of it all. Later on as I keep coming I got to know Rob and his mom Gypsy(RIP) and Ron(RIP). I knew of them Rob and Gypsy because I first saw them when I was taken to the US Studios on Michigan Ave. I was only 17 when that happened. I guess you can say that was my start. It was my very first time at anybody club, it was for my stepsisters 18th Birthday. My sister and my older stepsister use to go to the Warehouse and that’s how it all began. Back to the Box and Ron. Ron use to beat my body to death with his Muzic style. He had my body doing things I didn’t know it could do. That’s probably why my body is failing now. My friends use to think I didn’t have any bones in my body because of how I Jacked. Let me tell you. Ron would take a record rearrange it, play it in different tempos, Bass it, Mid range it and tweet it in ways you never heard. Y’all when Ronnie took the bass out and had the tweeters only, my feet use to make the bass with the hard heel shoes i would wear. I was known for Beat n my feet when that happened. Stacey said to me recently that I left a hole in the floor of the Box from my stompin. Hahahahahaha. Y’all I miss those days with my friends at the Box and Power Plant. I still keep up with some of my friends like; Miss Collins, Snow, Miss Miller, Miss Carlisa, Baby Girl, Hope, Clive, Gia- whom I met at the Plant and became her best friend, Kim and Robert(The Founder). It’s a few other to. Y’all I also keep up with some of the Power Plant’s Staff (Ivan). You Guys was my life, my family away from family and I’ll never ever forget you. The Plant and Box was my other homes away from home. This was the best part of my life a long with being an original 2nd member of the world renoun South Shore Drill Team. Which I am now the Asst. Director/Artistic Director of the Organization. Ron, I Miss You Dearly...... May you continue to RIP. Love from an Original House Head use my body jacker, Kevin. I still got more, like, the Belmont Rock parties and others. That’s another episode and story. Well do long and keep Ron’s legacy alive Nephew. Great Job.

Ron was the bomb, the nicest person I ever met, he always met me at the door when I went to the Den. The Den was the best spot ever, Ron was the BEST DJ ever. I still have all the music he played, I'd ask him what he was playing he would tell me, next day I went out and bought the music. I still have all my house music to this day no scratches or finger prints on any of my music, and I listen to house music everyday, Ron & I with three or four people would hustle our asses off and never miss a beat. Ron really was the best. We really need to do a reunion just for him. People will come, let's just do it , nonstop music, Theme " I LOVE MUSIC " WHITE HEAT " put it on the air waves, we're waiting. I still dance and good at it.

I enjoyed 1982 and 1983 going to the underground of Chicago to dance to the beat of Ron Hardy and Frankie Nucklesat , the Warehouse, the Muzic Box, The Power House,( will go in after skating at the Rainbow, will go home change ) will arrived at Midnight or 1am and will leave with my Friends at 10 am!! I remember going up the stairs to the light of day and my make up was messed up and felt blinded by the light of day...go eat then hang out at Friends house, then to the lake and continue the party with my Friends. Go home get to the lake with alarm clock go to sleep, get a tan then go home change ...go to work and go to Chicago City Wide College and repeat the cycle almost everyday!!!! I will allways remember the great experiences i had and i sure miss those days...i miss the best Dj´s of my time RIP Ron and Frankie and thank you for the memories!! Peace Out!!!
